One day when I was doing laundry, I saw that my brother’s clothes were left in the dryer. I was tempted to just throw all of his clothes in a laundry basket, leaving them crumpled, because I was upset. But then a phrase of the Bible came to my mind: “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (Jn 8:7). I am not perfect, and I leave things in a mess sometimes, too. So I thought, “what would Jesus have done in my place?” I decided I would fold all his clothes, but not only that, I also took them to his room and organized them a bit. I was very happy to be able to do this for him and get out of the mentality of nagging him about “how it should be.”

A couple of nights later, I was watching TV with him. I was getting tired, but I needed to take my clothes out of the dryer. I asked my brother, “Can you please take my clothes out of the dryer? Just leave them out, and I will fold them tomorrow.” He said that was fine, and I went to sleep. The next morning I went to pick up my laundry. To my surprise, he did not simply take out my clothes, but they were all folded! I then realized how a little love was better than any amount of nagging. Love brings about love, even in the smallest situations.
