Interculturalism at school gets boost

The panel of experts – including researchers, school managers and representatives of the social and cultural communities – will promote school policies that foster the integration of foreign pupils and monitor their implementation, encourage agreements between institutions and foster experimentation and innovation in teaching and discipline. 

Of Italy’s around 7.88 million students 740,000 have foreign citizenship according to projections.

The vast majority attend school in northern and central regions, with 183,000 in Lombardy alone.
