Ramadan: holy time of fasting and prayer
During Ramadan, many Muslims give money or volunteer for particular causes, attend special services or night prayers at the mosque, or set themselves the challenge of reading the entire Qu’ran.
The month will end 29 to 30 days later with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, when the first crescent of the new moon is sighted, marking the start of the next lunar month.
