Serbia, EU negotiations will start on January 21
Dacic, historic event, our big dream for a long time
The EU General Affairs Council has given green light to the opening of negotiations with Serbia on January 21. This news was confirmed by the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fuele, who announced on Twitter the ”recognition of the efforts made in Belgrade with regards to reforms” and the ”normalization of relations with Kosovo”.
‘‘The first intergovernmental conference has been scheduled for January 21”, the EU commissioner for enlargement said.
‘‘It’s an historic event, a day that many generations and many governments have dreamed”, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated, commenting Brussels’ green light. ”I am proud that everything in this process has been made by my government”, said the prime minister speaking to public television Rts.
”These ambitions were not just dreams or campaign promises, and now they’ve all come true”.
